I just had TWO Twitter accounts suspended for using stuff like this. Amazing too considering that I was not posting tons of affiliate links. I was using mostly informative Google Alerts. Either account had 1-500 following and less followers. I see people with several thousand posting nothing but affiliate links and *I* get banned for "spam behavior"? I don't get it.

No money though. Nada, zilch. I don't know how all these people supposedly make thousands with Twitter and other Clickbank related things. I am starting to wonder that the guys who have their pics taken in front of Ferraris aren't just at the dealer lot or rented the car for the promo pics... I'm *that* (pissed off) jaded.

I use the basic tweetlater account to send out an automated direct messasge to people who follow me.. i havent had any problems with it.

Yeah the reason you'll get banned from Twitter isn't sending automated messages, it's sending too many auto messages too soon.

You have to work your way up to more and more messages otherwise your simply spamming a small list of followers and that looks terrible to Twitter as they are fighting the spammers hardcore now.

If you have a list of under 1000 followers don't send more then 1 or 2 messages an hour.

Over 5000 you can have all kinds of feeds setup at twitterfeed.com and supply your followers with automated relevant updates that will keep them coming back for more and like what you have to say.

It's all about how you present the information to your followers thats really important with Twitter!

I would see no problem updating your Twitter account 2-3 times an hour with links to your blog/website etc.

I would start slow then work your way up as your followers increase.
