I just finished reading about the affiliate link cloaking software and downloaded my copy. Can't wait to start using it, just need some help setting it up.

The problem is I don't know how to extract it to a 'text editor'... Don't even know what the heck that is. Lol. So as you probably already know, everytime I try to open it, it comes out to be an empty word doc.

Anyways, I was hoping someone can help me get that set up right. Thanks in advance my friends... & I hope I can serve you as well!

Thanks for asking, a lot of people don't ask for help and I am here to help anyone that needs it, so take advantage!

The file you downloaded is a .php file, you can edit it with any text editor as long as when you save it you make sure it remains a .php file.

Basically you want to open the file and put your affiliate link you want to cloak in the space at the top where the sample affiliate link is.

Thats all!!

Save as whatever name you want like "iphone.php"

and

Upload this file to your web server via ftp or a file manager whichever you use.

and test

load up yoursite.com/iphone.php

and if all worked as planned you will be automatically be redirected to your affiliate link.

so

send people to yoursite.com/iphone.php instead of to your affiliate link, this way they don't know its an affiliate link when they hover their mouse over it on your site/blog.

Unfortantely I am still having a little trouble trying to exract it to a text editor, I don't know what that means. Everytime I try to open it, it comes up as an empty word document...

Do you know why that is? Or how to actually open it without going through that problem? I've downloaded it about 5 or 6 times now, and tried different approaches to it, but just can't figure it out.

If you still have no idea what I'm talkin about, it's cool. I'll just forget about it, and move on. But if you can help me out, that would be awesome.

No problem at all.

The file your downloading is a zip file (Compressed File) you have to extract the file inside it with a program like winzip first. It is a free download and you can get it at winzip.com

Once you extract the .php file then open it with a text editor and follow the instructions above.

I have winzip. But when it gets unzipped, and I click on the file, it'll come up as an empty word documentary. The problem is...

I don't know what a 'text editor' is, and 'how to extract the file with a text editor'.

That's what I'm asking. Sorry for the confusion btw.

A text editor is simply an application that edits a text file .txt for example. If you have the affiliate link post it on here or email it to me and I will make you the file, let me know if you want it in .html or .php format (I can make you either one)
