- I’m a husband and father of four, two adult young men, one girl and one teenage boy. I was a professional truck driver by trade for several years—military and civilian—until I became disabled with Lupus SLE. Wanting a better life for my family, I started college (2003) a year before I became ill. I was almost completely confined to a bed for three years on oxygen. None of the treatments—including chemotherapy—worked until I was prescribed Cellcept. Subsequently, I rapidly improved to the point that I’m no longer on oxygen. I worked and attended school fulltime until illness. What’s more in spite of the illness, I continued to attend college until I graduated with dual B.S. degrees in business management and administration (2007). I thank God—I couldn’t do it without him. Recently, I have begun to engage in entrepreneurial endeavors.
